Grateful. This past year has been a time of change

Grateful. This past year has been a time of change, adaptability, growth, reflection, confusion, and hustle. But mostly, gratefulness. Grateful for my support systems, both financially and emotionally. Grateful for the extra time spent with loved ones. Grateful to have a side hustle that was already in place for when I needed to call on it. And now grateful for the chance to try something new.

In April, due to COVID-19, I was let go from my post as an Art Director for a local Calgary magazine. Along with many other Canadians and people all over the world who left their place of work in early 2020, I had a lot of anxiety over the uncertainty of what was to come. I’d be lying to say that I did not experience stress but overall I chose to see the positive, and seize the challenge that this pandemic brought.

I turned to my freelance company, as my main source of income and a place to focus my extra time and energy. From June to October I was lucky enough to work with 18 different clients on some really cool projects!

Ultimately I made the decision to take on a new opportunity and started a role as the Senior Graphic Designer for Young Living Canada. As they say, when one door closes, another opens. I am excited to see where this door leads 🚪
