Hey there, I’m Sarah, the founder and creative director here at Red Bear design studio. I have a knack for visual storytelling and bring a playful approach to my work. I love what I do and I’m excited to get out of bed in the mornings to work on my next project.

I have a bachelor of design (specialized honours degree) from York University and Sheridan College. I’ve spent the past decade working as a designer for companies of varying size, from national publications like Sportsnet magazine to a city publication in Calgary, Alberta. My years spent working in publishing has given me the unique ability to succinctly tell a visual story.

I’m naturally curious about the world and that often steers my approach to design. I get inspiration from the beauty of everyday life, whether that’s wandering through my neighbourhood and spotting a really great front door colour, driving through the country to admire the beautiful Rocky Mountain landscapes or perusing through local artisan shops while on vacation (gimme all the hand painted skulls in Sayulita, Mexico). This world is a constant source of inspiration.
